A WARM WELCOME TO BOSHAM

Bosham (pronounced Bozz'm) is one of the most charming places in Sussex, and has been described as  "Outstandingly pretty ...a gem of a place."

Bosham stands on a little peninsula between two tidal creeks at the eastern end of Chichester's inland harbour. There is no beach, no sand, and bathing is virtually out of the question.  However Bosham still draws visitors like a magnet, especially in the summer months.

The tide sometimes swamps Shore Road and, despite the warning signs, motorists who leave their cars on hard standing when the seas is out of sight discover, like King Canute, that the tide waits for no man.

Yes, there is something special about Bosham that suits all tastes.  As well as providing a sanctuary for migrating wildfowl -shellduck, wigeon, Brent geese, waders and many more -it is picturesque, peaceful and a wonderful centre for sailing. Those with a sense of history, artists, photographers, walkers, cyclists, sailors and weekenders all love the place.

The visitors section of this web site is designed to help you enjoy and get the most out of the village whilst respecting the enjoyment of other visitors and those who live here.

We welcome our visitors and hope you will share and enjoy the privilege of this beautiful and historic old village.
